“The Republican right is the only alternative between the extremes and Macron”: the LR leadership of Gard regrets Eric Ciotti’s decision

Richard Tiberino and Franck Proust, respectively president and secretary of the LR du Gard must "take the necessary decisions" at the end of a political office this evening.

"We regret the decision of Éric Ciotti taken without consultation with LR elected officials because abandon
today our colors would be a useless choice for the country." In a joint press release, the president and secretary of the LR du Gard, Richard Tiberino and Franck Proust, take their distance from Eric Ciotti's decision to form an alliance with the National Rally.

“We have local elected officials, municipalities, French Regions and Departments and the Senate that we manage for the common good with responsibility and seriousness. We must maintain our independence in the face of the “at the same time” of Emmanuel Macron and in the face of demagogy and the leap into the unknown proposed by the two extremes of the political spectrum. More than ever, we owe the French people an independent and clear voice. Especially in these troubled times and in the face of the rise of violence, irresponsibility and anti-Semitism carried by France Insoumise, and officially shared again by the Socialists, the Ecologists and the Communist Party, all united behind the banner of the extreme left”, explain the two elected officials from Nîmes.

Who add: “We will meet this evening at 7 p.m. for a political bureau to make the necessary decisions. The Republican Right has brought about the Greatness of France, it will continue to do so and to present itself to the French people because it is now the only alternative between the extremes and Macron."

On Monday, in an interview with Midi Libre, Richard Tiberino declared: "I will never cross the red line with the National Rally".
