The rich program of the many Lozériens present at the International Agricultural Show

Big meeting of the year for farmers, breeders and producers, the International Agricultural Show begins this Saturday, February 24, 2024. And will last almost ten days, until ;as of March 3.

As every year, several Lozériens have been selected to participate in the event which takes place at the Paris exhibition center.

The opportunity for them to show their know-how in front of a cosmopolitan audience. Gathered in the Lozère space (see below), eight producers from all backgrounds will present their specialties.

Nadia Vidal, based in Collet-de-Dèze, will cook pancakes with chestnut flour, sell jams, chestnut creams, ice creams, and also juices and syrups. Moreover, the Cévennes producer will be the ambassador of the AOC (Appellation d’origine contrôlée) “Cévennes chestnut”. Jean-Luc Vidal will offer his aperitif liqueurs and wines.

Stéphanie Villa will taste her products (jams, syrups, flour, shortbread, etc.) made from chestnuts and red fruits.
Laurent Augier, manager of the Brasserie de Lozère, will also be there. He will bring his La 48 beer and his 48 Cola to Paris.
On the cheese side, the Ressouche le Mazet farm will be keen to demonstrate Lozère excellence in this area. Nadège Ressouche will have the public taste her cheeses and farm charcuterie.

Specialties based on porcini mushrooms and other mushrooms (risotto, porcini confit, chanterelles and dried porcini mushrooms) will be presented by Guy Atger, from Clef de fer.

Émily Prieur, artisan of Saveurs du Teil, will highlight her know-how with her crunchies, homemade fouace, chestnut biscuits and waffles.

Finally, two producers will participate for the first time in the International Agricultural Show. This is Les Délices de Mary, with its jams, condiments, pancakes and fondants. And the Boulevard des thés, which will present its coffees roasted in Lozère.

Four cattle in the running

Contrary to what we announced in our Midi Libre Lozère edition dated February 16, it is not eleven (the replacements had been counted) but four cattle which will participate in the General Agricultural Competition. Three of them will be in the Aubrac breed competition, Wednesday February 28, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Gaec (Agricultural Group for Common Exploitation) of Buge will present Oceannie, in the category young cow. Gaec Solignac de Boujoux will bring Lebroune, who will compete in the aged cow category. Rachida, owned by Elsa Hugon, will claim the title of best BFA red label cow.
For the brown breed, the competition will take place on Monday, February 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. And it’s Rockstar, from Gaec des Milles vue, who will participate.
