An inspection carried out this Saturday, February 3, detected anomalies within this collective reception of minors from the Lumière et pieté mosque.

The Gard prefecture decided this Tuesday, February 6, to close the collective reception for minors located within the Lumière et pietie mosque in Nîmes.

Saturday February 3, the departmental service for youth, engagement and sports (SDJES) carried out a scheduled inspection of a collective reception of minors, set up by the cultural association Cultures et Savoir Nîmes within the Lumière et pieté mosque, rue Monot.

Administrative formalities "not completed"

According to the Gard prefecture: "The inspection carried out demonstrates that the establishment has not completed the necessary formalities provided for by the texts in force and that health morality of minors is not assured.

The prefect of Gard has therefore decided to close this school which provides lessons in Arabic and the Koran.
