Le coup de mer du week-end passé, avec ses vagues de 6 m de hauteur, a entamé les dunes du cordon littoral de Frontignan.

Driven by strong gusts of around 90 km/h from the South-South-East sector, the sea rose everywhere on the coastal beaches during the past weekend. The waves, some of which were measured offshore, at a height of six meters, therefore hit the Frontignan seafront, which is not the widest place in the area.

The dunes cut like lumps of butter

Thus the dune barrier which protects the houses built along the coast was, in places, devastated. The dunes were thus cut like common lumps of butter. And the ledges which generally hold the sandy structure were either torn off or unbalanced. Since the sea has receded and descended to a slightly more classic level, the spectacle is impressive in places.

The informed agglomeration

As soon as the Mediterranean episode ended, the city services came to take stock of the situation. A report was sent to the city services responsible for the coastline so that they could initiate an operation to reconstruct all the points affected by the combined anger of Aeolus and Poseidon. Hoping that there won't be any further bad weather until the end of the summer season.
