During their trip to Morocco, the Sète artist couple AmonAlis took advantage of a three-day stopover in El Jadida to voluntarily paint a fresco highlighting the twinning of the two cities.

"It’was a great experience with great encounters !" Between Monday and Wednesday , Stéphane Dumont (Amon) and Alice Santraine (Alis) from the artist duo AmonAlis left their luggage in El Jadida for a vacation in Morocco. A city far from being chosen by chance and where the couple wanted to paint a fresco in the name of the close link with Sète.

A painting of 29 m² in the French high school of El Jadida…

So, before their departure, the tandem, to whom we owe several works on rue de Tunis, took the opportunity to meet Ludovic Vallée, president of the Sète-El Jadida twinning committee, to find a place.

Finally, the French international high school Jean-Charcot was selected. Amon and Alis therefore took out the spray paint and acrylic to fill the 29 m² facade (16 x 1.60 m).

… done in sharing with third grade students

"We wanted to represent the links between Sète and El Jadida, so we painted the two cities. The first on the left, the second on the right. But also, two girls, a French and a Moroccan who represent the younger generations. And a gull attracted by a tie placed on a sort of breakwater", details Amon from Essaouira, before continuing.

"What is also good is that third grade students were able to participate with the rollers or the bombs. We showed them our knowledge and gave them the taste to express themselves and share, adds the one who also met with his wife two local artists, Abdellah Dibaji and Belyasmine El Mostapha (who presented the Regard Jdidi exhibition last March as part of the twinning).
