The tambourine season is coming to an end, the French champions send their regards!

The tambourine season ends with the Condor Trophy, this Saturday in Cazouls-d’Hérault. Then the next weekend with the finals of the championships and the Hérault Cups. In the list of winners of the French championships for the 2023-2024 season, Notre-Dame-de-Londres wins the title in women's N1, Cazouls-d’Hérault in men's N1 and Vendémian in N2.

Notre-Dame undefeated

Deprived of their title last year by Cournonsec, the Notre-Dame players dominated the entire season, undefeated, with the return to their best level of Chloé Alignan and Nadège Charles alongside Sarah Essayie, Cassandra Guigon, Anne Arnaud, Aurore Mermoud… “The “old” are still motivated and the youngsters are progressing, that makes a nice backbone", underlines Patrice Charles, this time wearing his hat as president and coach of the Londraines.
Facing them, Cournonsec was unable to compensate for the absence of its backs, Carole Ferrier and Anaïs Barriot, while Vendémian, despite the stoppage of Océane Pastor, won 2nd place, in Europe, ahead of Poussan, 3rd.

1, 2, 3,… Vendémian

Vendémian who has tasted all the podium places this season; with also a European place in men, 3rd in National 1 behind Cournonterral and Cazouls-d’Hérault, and first in National 2. The victory of "regularity" testifies Fred Gounel. "We only lost one match  for me, it's a consecration because in the 12 years that I have been president, it's the only title that I have been missing among the men!" The season is not over yet for the N2 who this Saturday will challenge Cournonterral in the final of the Condor Trophy, in Cazouls-d’Hérault.

Cazouls in charge

The Cazoulins who, on their favorite ground of Esparos, went to get an eleventh title of champion of France, since 2011!
Dominant, first in the regular phase with only one defeat in the last match of the regular phase, they had fallen in the Coupe de France against Gignac, at the end of July, before recovering in the final phase of N1. Winners of Vendémian in the semi-final then of Cournonterral at the end of a breathless final of 3h30, 13-11. “The more it goes on and the more we enter the age and despite that, we see that we remain competitive and it is even more pleasant”, savors Jérémy Hernandez. “We train for this, to play at the highest level” continues captain Cazoulin, looking back on an exceptional season, which began with a victory in the Super Cup and culminated in a European final, “which had never happened before !”
