After L’Iranget and La Devèze, a third branch of the OPH opened its doors to the public. It was inaugurated this Tuesday, April 2 in the presence, among others, of all employees of the Public Housing Office Béziers Méditerranée and the president, Robert Ménard.

After La Devèze, then Iran and last year, the station area, more precisely the ground floor of the social housing at 26 avenue ;nbsp;Gambetta, now hosts a branch of the Public Housing Office (OPH) Béziers Méditerranée, whose headquarters is located on Place Émile-Zola, in Béziers.

This Tuesday, April 2, there were a large number of people attending the inauguration of the new premises, the OPH having invited all of its employees. The president, Robert Ménard, took part in the tradition of ribbon cutting, alongside OPH executives, including the general director, Magali Bordja. "This antenna will be able to receive residents of more than 2 000 homes in the neighborhood", delighted the president.

He then recalled the work carried out, not only to develop the OPH antenna, but also and above all to renovate all of the buildings in this social residence. "The exteriors have been renovated, as have the 215 accommodations. The Gambetta real estate complex underwent Anru requalification and obtained the BBC label. A major project worth 6 million euros, including 3.20 million euros; of state subsidies and 215,000 euros; of the Agglo. The idea, when we renovate social housing, is that we don’t say afterwards “it’s social housing”. We therefore demand a quality renovation "

150 000 € of works

Six months of work were necessary. They began on October 1, 2023 and ended on March 31.

Presenting the new OPH branch, the general director, for her part, reminded "that’originally, this place was a commercial premises of 150 m2 occupied until August 2023 by an associative medical practice. Béziers Méditerranée Habitat invested 150,000 ;euro;." Furthermore, it specified that "each branch is made up of two building managers, staff of& rsquo;antenna, guards and maintenance agents".

The inauguration ended with a visit to the premises, with their contemporary design, white and light wood tones. As for the garden common to all buildings, closed, redesigned and vegetated, it should be particularly appreciated, both by the tenants and the staff of the OPH antenna.
