The women's footballers travel to Dijon without their new recruit, the Danish Mille Gejl

The new recruit of the MHSC women's section, Mille Gejl, a 24-year-old Danish international, will wear number 29. MHSC

After a break in the French women's championship, but not easy for the Montpellier women, the 14th day continues this Saturday, February 3 (2:30 p.m.) with the trip of MHSC, 4th in D1 Arkema, to Dijon (9th). The formation of Yannick Chandioux which, outside, remains on a success at Guingamp, will want to confirm outside its bases, even deprived of its Danish reinforcement as confirmed by the coach on Thursday noon in the pre-match press conference.

It was a desire of the MHSC for women, already this summer, to recruit an offensive player in addition to Ngueleu and Gordon, who arrived in the off-season. This is done, on the gong, since the Dane Mille Gejl saw her arrival made official on January 31. She will not be on the scoresheet this Saturday in Dijon but over the course of training and the weeks, she will join the MHSC collective.
A 24-year-old international (31 caps), Mille Gejl has "a solid high-level career" explains a press release from the MHSC. "Passed by the Danish club Kolding, then by the ‘’monster’’ local Brøndby IF with whom she played in the Champions League and scored 24 goals in 52 matches, she comes from a year's experience in the North American elite, at North Caroline Courage. She also has the particularity of being able to play in almost all offensive positions, whether in a corridor, in the No. 9 position or in support of the striker. A versatile profile and high-level experience which won over the MHSC staff.

Not complete for this trip

"The idea is not to "take for the sake of taking" explained this Thursday noon the MHSC coach, Yannick Chandioux. It wasn't easy in January because all the clubs wanted a striker. We have fewer possibilities in women's football than in men's football. She is a player who remains young but who already has experience, who can play in different positions in the attack; she is a little more in line with what she wants to do in the future and that's good, that's what we search".  The only drawback, warns the Montpellier coach, is that you will still have to be patient since she is not ready to come into play; 'She hasn't played since the end of November. We'll have him at the end of February, beginning of March, at 100%, time to adapt to the team.

"We approach Dijon in good conditions"

Montpellier will have to do without in Dijon this Saturday; a group which was able to gain confidence, despite the narrow defeat suffered against Lyn a fortnight ago (1-2). "I liked the combativeness, the state of mind of a united team… There are very interesting interview bases for the future&quot ;. And who took advantage of the two-week break, not to rest but to work a lot. "I feel the players are concerned, there are suspensions, injuries with Léa Khelifi. We are working calmly, we are moving forward with a little more certainty but I think we are approaching Dijon in good conditions. Not with the whole group, that's the only drawback today. The arrival of Mille Gejl is likely to make him more confident and efficient in realizing opportunities, an improvement in the game.
