“Thefts, sexual assault, violence…”: the public transport security brigade takes over Saint-Roch station in Montpellier

A chief and eleven staff will officiate there seven days a week. They will be in charge of all forms of delinquency on trains, trams and buses.
A small premises, located on the east wing of Saint-Roch station in Montpellier, overlooking rue du Pont-de-Lattes, was inaugurated with great fanfare this Thursday, March 14 , early in the morning.
This is the office of the public transport security brigade (BSTC), made up of a department head and twelve police officers.
Seven days a week
A unit responsible, as its name indicates, for securing train, tram and bus users, which will operate seven days a week, in partnership with Suge (railway security), the SNCF and the Metropolis, on all forms of delinquency.
As expressed jointly by François-Xavier Lauch, the prefect of Hérault, Philippe Tireloque, the deputy national director of public security, and Marjorie Ghizoli, the interdepartmental director of the national police of Hérault.
