This “Gothic” couple visited Europe: the body of a young woman found in an abandoned church

On April 5, 2024, the body of a 22-year-old woman from Saint-Priest was found in an abandoned church in Valle d'Aosta in Italy. His companion, on the run, is the main suspect in the murder.

The macabre discovery was made last Friday in this region of north-west Italy. The victim is a young woman of 22, originally from Saint-Priest, a town in the Lyon suburbs. Multiple traces of stab wounds are visible on several parts of his body, report our colleagues from Progrès.

A gothic couple

It was in an old abandoned church in ruins, in a small Italian village, called La Salle, that his remains were found by a walker. According to the findings of the forensic doctor, the murder was committed outside the building and could date back one or more weeks previously.

The young woman was with her companion during her visit to Europe. "She was very beautiful but had a pale and emaciated face. He had black curls and an olive complexion. They were dressed like two goths, all in black. Like these children who worship death", reports a witness, quoted by the local daily.

The wanted man

According to the Italian press agency ANSA, the man is on the run and actively sought. He was to be tried before the Grenoble criminal court for acts of violence against a spouse and threats, the woman found stabbed in the neck and abdomen. He is also wanted for violation of his judicial control, specifies a press release from the Grenobler public prosecutor, Eric Vaillant.

Always according to the ANSA, the suspect would have been born in Italy, of Egyptian origin and would have taken the direction of the France or Switzerland aboard a red van.
