Threatened with death for asking a student to remove her veil, the principal of Ravel high school justifies his resignation in a letter

Le proviseur du lycée Maurice Ravel dans le 20e arrondissement de Paris a posé sa démission, dans le contexte des menaces de morts qui lui étaient adressées depuis son altercation avec une élève qui avait refusé d'enlever son voile. 

Barely a month after the events, the principal of the Maurice Ravel high school in Paris preferred to resign. The supervisor had been threatened with death on social networks since his altercation with a student at the establishment to whom he had asked to remove her veil and who had refused. 

The school establishment was also the subject of threats of destruction since the affair. The principal had filed a complaint for "acts of intimidation". An investigation has been opened. This Tuesday, March 26, the rectorate indicated to AFP, cited by BFM, that the principal was leaving his position.

A different version from that of the rectorate

The academy is moving forward with a departure for "personal convenience" and indicates to our colleagues that he has granted him an "early departure" when he only had a few months left to work before his retirement.

A shocking decision

A decision, which tends to surprise, even shock, in the educational community of the establishment, according to the testimonies collected by France Info to the colleagues of this principal. "I am unhappy, this story is a serious story and has led to this, while the&# 39;the opposite should have happened", comments a professor.

France Info adds that the threats of attack which were made via the digital work space towards educational establishments did not spare the Maurice Ravel high school, putting the entire establishment on edge.
