On an initiative of the CGT, around ten demonstrators gathered this Monday, April 15 in front of the Montpellier University Hospital to protest both against a renewal of the schedule for fire safety agents and against the parking prices of the hospital. 
 

There were around ten of them, this Monday, April 15 in the morning, demonstrating in front of the Montpellier University Hospital. While taking up the demands of the fire safety officers already defended on April 9, the CGT added a reason for demonstration: hospital parking rates.

A new contested schedule

The fire safety agents of the Montpellier University Hospital had already gathered on April 9, protesting against a renewal of the schedule which would force them to work alternating day/night, but also against the ;#39;employment of personnel from the private sector by the public establishment. The direction is "still closed to negotiation" according to Pierre Renard, nurse and staff representative. The union will send a letter to the prefecture: "We are relying too much on the private sector. We want properly trained public officials".

Parking rates: "It's the surprise when you leave"

"We didn't want to damage anything: we simply collected patient tickets until the system was full. After twenty minutes, the barriers opened". Pierre Renard distributed the letter of CGT demands to users of the parking lot. The nurse is sad: "We met a pregnant woman who often comes to the hospital. She spends eight euros on parking per day. Her financial situation is difficult, so she counts what is left at the end of the month". According to Pierre Renard, no price is displayed on the parking terminals, preventing users from knowing in advance the amount of their ticket: "C& #39;is the surprise when leaving". The patients were understanding: "They are tired of paying for parking to seek treatment. The public hospital should be free including parking.
