Miguel Cortès, l’un des pires tueurs en série du Mexique, a commis jusqu’à vingt féminicides. Chez lui, la police a retrouvé des restes humains et les cartes d’identité de plusieurs femmes disparues.
Miguel Cortès, one of Mexico's worst serial killers, committed up to twenty feminicides. His neighbor María José, aged 17, was his last victim. The killer entered her home, raped her and then killed her. But this time, he didn't escape since he was surprised by the young girl's mother.
The 39-year-old criminal seriously injured her with a knife, stabbing her in the face and back. He then fled the house, before being detained by the neighbors, reports Blick< /strong>.
Atrocious crimes
When police searched his apartment in Mexico City, they discovered evidence of his atrocious crimes. Miguel Cortés, who worked as a chemical laboratory assistant, kept seven human skulls in his home.
At her home, investigators also found traces of blood, human remains, bones, a bone saw and ID cards of missing women. Miguel Cortés had recorded all his actions in notebooks. According to Blick, he could be responsible for the disappearance of around twenty women.
Her notebooks trace the events that preceded each feminicide. Miguel Cortés describes in detail what he did to the women he lured to his apartment for false reasons.
The limbs were dismembered
Miguel Cortès dismembered his victims before dissolving the body parts in acid. Since he worked as a chemist, he had easy access to the necessary substances and would have documented with a stopwatch the time needed to dissolve tissues.
Today, investigators are trying to find out if his ex-girlfriend is one of his victims. Indeed, the young woman, aged 22, was in a relationship with the serial killer. She suddenly disappeared in 2015 under unexplained circumstances.
