112 coureurs ont été classés sur la course des Trois châteaux ce dimanche à Compeyre.

The weather gods were in compeyrols this weekend. The sun and the spring temperature hovering over the village almost made us forget that the day before the race, South Aveyron was swept by incessant rain and strong gusts of wind.

400 runners engaged

The runners, who returned with their calves covered in mud, did not forget it. They were 112 to appear in the ranking this Sunday March 10 on the Compeyrol roads for a unique edition of this Trois Châteaux race. This year, the organizers had in fact planned to have the peloton of runners pass through the historic buildings.

Yoan Raja alone from the start

Among men, Yohann Raja dictated his law. Although he started in a small group of four, he broke away from the third kilometer and did the race alone. Behind him, Jérôme Poujol and David Rédier could only watch his stride disappear. These two, who are used to sharing the kilometers together in local races, also tried to engage in a battle. But there too, nothing to do. "We were both already at full strength and no one was gaining the upper hand, we looked at each other and said we were going to end up together",& ;nbsp;smiles Jérôme Poujol. The two pursuers left the last single track together to cross the village in one stride and did not sprint. Behind them, Kévin Clément who opened the hostilities by starting in the lead on the first kilometer completes the podium.

Mathilde Fontugne in the long run

Mathilde Fontugne was not able to enjoy the same ease in breaking away from her competitors. She initially battled behind Laure Nouet, before taking control at the tenth kilometer. Last year, she took third place in this same race. "I really had a blast, lance- she asked after completing the course in 1h38'17. Usually we expect a somewhat smooth race and here, with the mud, it was a little less so."& nbsp;Laure Nouet therefore takes second place (1h40'33) and Saint-Affricaine Asmaa Roques completes the podium (1h40'40).
