Tribute from the PCF of Béziers on the occasion of the pantheonization of Missak and Mélinée Manouchian

The communists of Hérault organized this Wednesday, February 21, at the end of the afternoon, at the Champ de Mars, a ceremony in honor of Missak and Mélinée Manouchian, the couple of resistance fighters who entered the Pantheon at the same time. The leader of the foreign partisans of the Red Poster, executed 80 years ago to the day in Mont-Valérien, was Armenian, and a communist. And for Jean Marc Biau, PCF regional advisor, his party had to celebrate this Parisian consecration in its own way. "This is the first time that a communist resistance fighter has entered the Pantheon, and through him, it is the entire involvement of communists in the French resistance which is recognized", he emphasizes.

In his speech, the elected official, however, deplored the doublespeak of the "president of the rich" and the government which, at the same time, passed an "immigration" law, described as "the most repressive text ever passed in France since the end of the Second War world". Words approved by Pierre Krasucki, present in the region to talk about his father, Henri Krasucki, former general secretary of the CGT, and who acted after the German invasion alongside the Manouchian group. 

Representatives of the CGT of Béziers and the Republican Association of Veterans (ARAC), of communist persuasion, were also present. Jean-Marc Biau had launched "invitations to other left-wing forces, but we have not had an official response", he notes. After the wreath-laying in front of the statue of Jean-Moulin, the participants watched the broadcast of the pantheonization ceremony, which was followed by&rsquo ;a debate and an aperitif dinner.
