Perle et Rubie, deux sœurs, se lancent dans l’aventure de la vente de poissons dans les halles de Sète.
In the current trend that the fishing world is going through, you have to have a certain courage to start selling fish. But nothing is impossible with the passion of youth. Perle Jover, 23, and her sister Rubie Mailhé, 32, have just opened their stall in the covered market of Sète.
We have always been immersed in this environment
Piscatores – “It was the grandmother who came up with the name, it means fishmongers in Latin”, explains Perle – settled in place of Valérie Germa. Far from being a whim, this opening is a logical continuation of a family adventure since the father embarks every year on the tuna boats of the Avallone fleet and Perle's future husband has his own fishing boat: the Poyo Perle. “We've always been immersed in this environment, says the youngest, trained in CAP at the Lycée de la mer in Sète. We really wanted to run this business together".
Products from the family boat
The stall, which was once on the Quai de la Consigne, therefore offers the fruit of the Sète boat's fishing as well as various other products from the local auction. And the two sisters are already delighted with their first weeks of business. "Although we are two young girls, we were very well received by the other stallholders, they say in unison. We were even given advice. So far, we haven't encountered any problems. In the market, we are the new kids who are getting started”, they comment with a big smile. Their stall, marked with a large pouffe, is located on the corner of rue de la Bourride in what is considered “the belly of Sète”. Perle and Rubie welcome their customers there, with a big smile, from Tuesday to Saturday.
