Two suitcases and one handbag per person, special luggage… the new SNCF instructions in force this Sunday

The tolerance period, enacted since February 15, ends this Sunday, September 15. In the event of a breach of the rule, a fine of 50 euros may be issued.
Two labeled bags with maximum dimensions of 70 x 90 x 50 cm and one labeled hand bag that must not exceed 40 x 30 x 15 cm: from this Sunday, the SNCF announces that it will scrupulously apply the regulations issued in February 2024 for passengers on TGV inOui and intercités.
Each person will not be able to carry more than two suitcases and one hand bag and travelers must be able to “carry their luggage alone”.
The “special luggage”, scooters and strollers, musical instruments, waterboards, snowboards, skis, are also subject to special provisions, are subject to a special system.
A pair of skis per person
“Your scooter (electric or no), or your stroller, must measure a maximum of 130 x 90 cm when folded. For safety reasons, your luggage must be stored in the designated areas, and not left on the platforms, in the passageway or above the heads of passengers, specifies the SNCF.
For scooters, strollers and musical instruments: “Your luggage must be transported in a case (preferably rigid), designed for this purpose, labeled, which measures a maximum of 130 x 90 cm. .
As for skis, “at a rate of one pair per person”, they must be transported in a labeled cover, provided for this purpose. “There is no size limit for skis. Your skis can be stored above the seats”, specifies the SNCF.
Passengers who do not respect the rule are liable to a fine of 50 €.
