Ce mercredi 8 mai 2024, un Boeing 767, opéré par la compagnie Fedex, a dû atterrir avec un seul train d’atterrissage fonctionnel et a terminé sa course avec la partie avant de son fuselage sur la piste.

A Boeing 767, operated by the company Fedex, which linked Paris to Istanbul, landed urgently this Wednesday, May 8, 2024 on a runway at Istanbul airport, in Turkey. The front landing gear of the Boeing 767 broke, forcing the pilot to make this risky maneuver, reports ABC News.

In a video shared on X by the specialized site Aviation Safety network, we can see the aircraft landing on the ground with its landing gear before hitting its nose against the runway over several hundred meters. He finally managed to stop.

No injuries

According to Turkish state agency Anadolu, the cargo plane was getting closer to its destination when the pilots realized that the front landing gear was not working. On alert, the rescue and firefighting teams were able to quickly position themselves on the track for prevention.

The runway on which the aircraft landed was temporarily closed to air traffic. This incident is part of a series of plane damages at Boeing. No injuries were reported and the personnel were able to evacuate the aircraft safely, indicated Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

One more incident

One more incident for Boeing, which has had three since April 27. That day, a Boeing 767 from the Delta Airlines had to turn around because an emergency slide came loose in mid-flight. This Tuesday, May 7, it was a Boeing 787 belonging to Air France which had to land urgently due to a "hot smell" quot; in the cabin.

Then more recently, this Thursday, May 9, eleven people were injured, four of them seriously, when a Boeing chartered by the company Air Sénégal left the runway during its takeoff.
