One Frenchman hides another. A week after Cyprien Sarrazin's crazy double downhill in Kitzbühel, it was Nils Allègre who won the super-G in Garmisch, Germany, on Saturday January 27, to claim his first victory in the World Cup of his career.
Starting bib 18, the 30-year-old Frenchman created a surprise by taking the lead at the end of a race with an improbable outcome. He finally beat the Italian Guglielmo Bosca (+18 hundredths, first World Cup podium) and the Swiss Loïc Meillard (+25/100th).

Nils Allègre, who has been playing on the World Cup circuit since 2016 (like Cyprien Sarrazin), had never been on a podium in 102 starts. However, he had a very good start to the winter, including a 4th place in downhill at Val Gardena in December.
The favorites ousted from the podium
The big Swiss favorites Marco Odermatt and French Cyprien Sarrazin, who had shared all the speed victories for a month, were ousted from the podium and took 4th and 11th places respectively.< /p>

"It's not a bad run, it's just not a perfect run", reacted Sarrazin, who is off the podium for the first time this year. "I'm very happy for Nils (…), we're in a lot of competition and he did a perfect run, with incredible accuracy, and today&# 39;today it paid off."
"Odi", double winner of the big crystal globe, has not been off the podium in super-G since March 2022. The Swiss, however, remains at the top of the ranking specialty and general classification.
The Alpine Ski World Cup continues on Sunday with a second super-G on the program in the German resort.
