The British team Williams made a big blunder during qualifying for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix by leaving an engine cooling system on one of its single-seaters, Saturday September 14 in Baku.

It's not as if the device is discreet… Even so, the Williams team mechanics made a big mistake during qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Formula 1.

As he was about to set off for a second fast lap in Q3, the qualifying session featuring the ten fastest drivers of the day, Thai driver Alexander Albon had to stop at the side of the track and play mechanic himself.

A system supposed to cool the engine

And for good reason, the British team left an engine cooling system on one of the Williams' air intakes when it was time to let Albon leave. Who had to do everything himself and stop to remove everything, including the ice.

A big blunder that provoked a rant from the former world champion Jacques Villeneuve, a consultant at Canal +, and a regular at the event: “How do they manage not to see it, it's fluorescent yellow… Frankly…". And it's pretty well summed up.
