This Friday, March 1, 2024, Marco, a sixty-year-old, was the victim of an anti-Semitic attack in Paris. The victim recalled this attack which occurred as he was leaving the synagogue.

"An unspeakable act". These were the words of Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin to react to this anti-Semitic attack that occurred this Friday in the 20th arrondissement of the capital. Marco, 62, who was leaving the synagogue , was kicked and punched by a man. The victim returns to this attack, on the microphone of our colleagues from BFMTV.

"I feel humiliated, I feel belittled"

The 62-year-old man, of Jewish faith, discusses the course of the attack. "I came out of the synagogue, I sat on the edge of the sidewalk of the synagogue and I saw a person pass by who looked at me fixedly , who looked a little excited", he explains. "C' Are you the one killing people in Gaza?", the man who was looking at him said.

"I don't kill anyone, I've never killed anyone", he replied. It was at that moment that the situation degenerated, and the man began to hit the sixty-year-old. "He punched me and headbutted me and then I lost consciousness" , testifies the victim.

Marco can only see the after-effects of this anti-Semitic attack of which he was the victim in the middle of Paris. "I have a broken nose, I have openings on my forehead, pain in my cheeks, in my jaw too"< /em>, explains to BFMTV.

But beyond physical health, mental health is not there. "I'm not well. As a man, I feel frustrated at not having been able to defend myself. I feel humiliated, I feel belittled. I feel more pain from that than physical pain. I'm fed up, I don't feel like I'm in France. It makes me think of the Second World War, a return of Nazism. A new Nazism", he deplored.

Research and surveillance

While the investigation is being conducted by the 20th arrondissement police station, Gérald Darmanin assures X that "everything is being done to find the author of this unspeakable act.

"Moreover, on my instructions, the prefects have been reinforcing since yesterday (Friday, Editor's note) monitoring places frequented by our Jewish compatriots who must not be victims of the tragedies taking place in the Middle East", insists the Minister of #39;Interior.

This new anti-Semitic attack comes several days after a distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza which turned into a tragedy after Israeli shooting and a stampede which left 115 dead, according to the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
