Sébastien Loeb has undoubtedly given up on a victory in this 2024 Dakar after losing almost 1 hour 30 minutes to Carlos Sainz following a mechanical incident. But the Frenchman wanted to be very fair by passing him on the road and signaling him to slow down.
This will undoubtedly be one of the beautiful sporting images of this Dakar 2024. In a fierce fight with Carlos Sainz for victory since the start of the race, Sébastien Loeb lost all chance of beating the # 39;Spaniard, who will undoubtedly win a fourth Dakar after his successes in 2010, 2018 and 2020.
During the penultimate stage, the Frenchman actually lost more than an hour and a half on the Audi driver due to a mechanical breakdown, his triangle front right in this case.

Loeb’s beautiful gesture
Knowing that this Dakar 2024 was over, barring an incredible mechanical problem in the last stage of Friday, Loeb then saw Sainz overtake him, while he was stationary on the side of the road.
The nine-time WRC world rally champion then congratulated the Spaniard with a thumbs-up, before motioning for him to slow down so as not to damage his car while the victory is almost in his hands.
