During the fourth stage of the Tour of the Basque Country, a big crash involving most of the favorites occurred and led to the race being neutralized. A fall which could have consequences for the Tour de France.

A very spectacular fall occurred approximately 30 kilometers from the finish of the fourth stage of the Tour of the Basque Country between Etxarri Aranatz and Legutio.

An incident involving the big favorites of the event: Primoz Roglic, Remco Evenepoel and Jonas Vingegaard. The latter was heavily injured and evacuated on a stretcher in an ambulance, just after being placed in a side safety position.

Consequences on the Tour de France ?

The Belgian champion Evenepoel fell in the meadow quite impressively. His team announced his retirement on social media.
