It was a close call. On Wednesday, June 26, in the city of Colorado Springs in the United States, an American couple was narrowly saved from a fire that occurred in their accommodation. The fire started in the kitchen around 4 a.m., due to clumsiness on the part of their dog, reports 20 Minutes.

The animal involuntarily activated the stove button while it was probably looking for something to eat in boxes, as evidenced by the video relayed by the firefighters who intervened. Subsequently, the boxes caught fire and the flames gradually spread throughout the house.

Woke up by a notification from the speaker

Despite the smoke detector alarming, the two spouses who were sleeping upstairs did not wake up. It was ultimately their connected speaker that warned them of the danger.

The sound of the fire alarm detected by the speaker sent a notification to the owners' phones. They were able to get up in time to call the firefighters and stop the fire.
