Cataracts, Retinitis pigmentosa, tinnitus, memory loss… How to get tested, how to treat these pathologies, what is the progress of research ? To find out everything, a general public health morning is organized on March 12 at the Midi Libre headquarters from 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. around 3 round tables.

Cataracts, glaucoma, AMD, a round table to find out more about the different vision pathologies will begin this Health Lab from 9 a.m. How to detect them, what do they correspond to, what are the existing treatments ? Thanks to our speakers, we will see more clearly on a subject that concerns us all at any given time. The opportunity also to focus on a genetic disease that affects one in 3,500 people, retinitis pigmentosa. In the presence of researchers and patients we will know more about the progress of science.

Get along well ?
In France, while one in four adults is affected by some form of hearing loss, only 37% of affected patients wear hearing aids. A major public health problem, knowing that hearing loss is associated with a decline in quality of life and social isolation. During this 2nd round table, we will discuss presbycusis,
tinnitus, but also hearing aids thanks to our speakers: teachers, hearing aid specialists, and companies specializing in innovative hearing tests. The public attending this morning will also be able to take the opportunity to carry out a free hearing test.
The Memory That Fails
The last round table of the morning will be devoted to memory. From benign forgetfulness to neurodegenerative pathologies, there are many diseases leading to memory impairment. What to do if you are worried?quels
treatments ? what care ? doctors neurologists, neuropsychologists, specialized autonomy/Alzheimer teams, will be present to draw up an inventory of the different pathologies and in particular the care of patients affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
