Volleyball: Arago de Sète returns from hell and fills Barrou

Maximiliano Gauna et les siens ont fait preuve de fierté. MIDI LIBRE – Jérôme Belluire

Luc Marquet's men, adrift during the match and particularly in the tie-break, won 3-2 this Saturday February 10 against Saint-Nazaire.

With an original configuration to say the least, due to injuries and the choice of the coach, Arago started this match with four players who were not supposed to start at the start of the match. season.

And, against all odds, it worked. Diop, Rajoharivelo and Hrytsenko set the field on fire and gave their team a first break (11-8). A gap which widened following a block from Hrytsenko on Ensing (16-11). It was then the defense which took over. Rippert was thus at the conclusion of a save from Devèze (18-12), then another from Zanotti (20-13). A controlled first round which ended with an attack from Diop (25-18).

From one extreme to the other

It was unfortunately too beautiful… Going from one extreme to the other, the Arago then turned off all the lights. So much so that the score quickly rose to 2-13, the moment chosen by Luc Marquet to launch Beriot. Without much success. There was not an ounce of life left on the court, except with Gauna leading the way to the net. An ace from Hallé put an end to the ordeal, in a stunned Barrou market (10-25).

Nothing was happening on the Sétois side. Rajoharivelo struggled to find distance and Garcia came into play at 7-15. It worked for a while (12-16), but it was still too fragile. An ace from Ensing (14-21) and a missed attack from Gonzalez were the proof (17-25).

An insane tie-break

In the 4th act, Arago finally came out of his shell. Rajoharivelo was valuable in defense (16-14) and, opposite, the Ligeriens lost control by insisting too much on a video challenge. From 20-20, the score rose to 25-20 after an authoritarian block from Gauna on Burel.

Madness would then take over Barrou. Trailing 3-9 then 7-12, the Sétois came back from hell with a block from Hrytsenko (12-13) and, above all, an attack and two counters from Bériot (15-14). The dynamic had clearly changed sides and the Nazairiens ended up giving in to an attack from Hallé repelled by Gonzalez (17-15).
