Montpellier challenges Poitiers in the semi-finals -Final of the Coupe de France. The club from the Hérault capital is favorite for a meeting which could send it to the final of a competition which it has never won. The MHSC VB is in good shape since Loic Le Marrec and his players have five victories in a row in all competitions, including a recent one in Poitiers, already (3-0). The Héraultais are in full force in Vienne with, in particular, the Olympic champion Nicolas Le Goff currently in great shape. In the other semi-final, Nantes hosts Tours.

Reached this Tuesday by telephone, Nicolas Le Goff spoke a few hours before the match: “We are approaching this match like any other. It was finalist in the championship in 2000, 2007, 2008 and 2012. The Vienne club also won the Coupe de France three times in 1996, 2002 and 2020.

Montpellier and Poitiers have already crossed paths twice this season in the championship for as many Montpellier victories. The first in Castelnau on December 3 with a score of 3 sets to 1. The second, more recently, on February 24 when the MHSC VB made short work of the Poitevins with a score of 3 sets to nothing (23- 25, 20-25, 21-25).
