Volleyball: Lorenzo Tubertini should be sacked by MHSC VB and replaced by his deputy Loïc Le Marrec

Appointed this summer as coach of Montpellier after a number experience at Narbonne, the Italian should already be fired from his post. He could be replaced by his current deputy, the former international, Loïc Le Marrec.

The information was in the pipeline since last week and the heavy defeat of MHSC VB in the derby in Sète (1-3). According to RMC Sport, Italian coach Lorenzo Tubertini will be fired from his position as coach of MHSC VB in the coming hours.

And Loïc Le Marrec, former Montpellier player and currently assistant coach of the team, should take the reins of a group which remains on four defeats in five games.

This decision has not been confirmed by the club, which refuses to comment. If it were to be made official, it would be a surprise since MHSC VB is currently fifth in the championship and is off to a good start to the season. Despite everything, the team has had four defeats in a row between the one recorded at home against Chaumont at the beginning of December and this one on the floor of Sète last Wednesday. 

Also, if confirmed, the nomination is Loïc Le Marrec (46th) is surprising for someone who has never held a number one position. The former international with 190 caps ended his playing career at Montpellier in 2014 before becoming Olivier Lecat's assistant. Together, they brought MHSC VB to the national title in 2022. Le Marrec then left the club, the city and volleyball for a season before being recalled by Jean-Charles Caylar this summer . 

This Saturday, Montpellier goes to Saint-Nazaire (2nd) for a shock at the top of the table against an opponent who came to win in Hérault during the first leg.& nbsp;
