The young Nîmes players in the M15 category won the French Beach Volleyball Cup this weekend at home, at Aquatropic. And this is not their first attempt.

These young Nîmes players, M15 this season, are definitely insatiable and invincible! After winning the national indoor title a few months ago, they won another gold medal in beach volleyball after three days of fierce competition at home, this weekend at Aquatropic.

Nicolas Agnèse, the coach: “An incredible generation that obtains incredible results”

On the sand, it's even a double for them, already crowned at the same place in 2023, but in M13.
A performance that magnificently concludes an exceptional season and ideally launches the next one. “It's true that this is an incredible generation that is achieving incredible results”, savors Nicolas Agnèse, a delighted coach.

The Gardois had to fight hard to win the 2024 Coupe de France. First, to win their first two matches on Friday, in a difficult qualifying group: a golden set was necessary to overcome Marignane and go directly to the quarter-finals, without going through the repechages.

On Saturday, the quarter-final victory against Le Touquet was quite quick (2-0). Then, in the semi-final, Nîmes had to, once again, play a golden set to defeat a surprisingly solid Coulaines team (2-1).

A team that knows how to win

The local volleyball players then met Sartrouville, their eternal rivals, for the title. And they won – again – after two very close matches (the rules provide for clashes in pairs). “They have now accumulated enough experience to know how to manage the tricky moments”, appreciated Agnèse who also wanted to salute and underline the quality of the organization of the competition. “It was a sporting and logistical success that Nîmes can congratulate itself on!”
