“We are devastated”: Fred Dewilde, cartoonist and survivor of the November 13 attacks at the Bataclan, committed suicide

Fred Dewilde, cartoonist who survived the Bataclan, has ended his life. His family and Life for Paris, an association of victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015, announced his death on Tuesday, May 7, in a message posted on X.
Bataclan survivor and pillar of the Life for Paris association, Fred Dewilde ended his life this Sunday, May 5. The association of victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015 and the family of the deceased paid tribute to him in a message published on X, this Tuesday, May 7.

Through his comics Mon Bataclan, La Morsure et< em> Draw me a trauma, the artist spoke about his traumatic story as a survivor of November 13. "Fred the survivor, Fred the victim had become Fred the artist sublimating suffering at eye level, a transmitter of memory for all of us& quot;, declare those close to him.

"We, his family, are in shock and devastated by the violence with which this sneaky poison spread by the terrorists of November 13, 2015 hit him implacably struck after more than 9 years of fierce resistance […] In this world full of conflicts, his legacy is a fight. Private Fred fell today and we are his heirs."
Fred Dewilde's family also wanted to share one of his drawings entitled "Love, forgiveness, sharing and knowledge" .
