Un couple a vu la vente de son appartement annulée à Villeurbanne, près de Lyon. Il doit désormais rembourser pas moins de 400 000 euros aux acheteurs.

The court has ruled: the couple must repay the €400,000 from the sale of their apartment in 2017 in four months, reports BFM.

The new owners discovered that the property did not comply with the building permit, the document stating that it was a commercial premises and not a residential apartment.

By real estate professionals

The sale was apparently carried out by real estate professionals. This failure would be a scam for the seller of the property, contacted by BFM.

The real estate company (SCI), which had initially sold the property to the couple, should reimburse them the amount of the initial sale, i.e. 240,000 euros. But the SCI in question is said to be insolvent and unable to honor its debt, reports the continuous news channel.

“An honest person”

“I am selling my house to pay off my debts, because I am an honest person (…) I find myself on the street with my husband and son, because I don't have enough money to pay rent”. His in-laws are going to take in the family, who are caught up in a real nightmare.
