“We will work until the end”: on Place Aristide Briand in Sète, the locksmith kiosk will disappear

"We learned last Friday that we had to leave before Thursday, that's a bit cavalier". In front of their premises on Place Aristide Briand in Sète, Patrick Moser and Julie Lauzes, the two managers of the Clés plus company, do not hide their astonishment but keep smiling. "We knew it would happen, but we hadn't expected it to happen so quickly, we're a little rushed" . Since the start of the work, the couple had kept the store, located at the lower corner of the square, open as best they could. "Awith the noise from the construction site it was getting complicated" confides Julie who takes care of the store, while Patrick manages the intervention part.

City services mobilized

At the town hall, they explain that they warned the craftsmen that they had to leave the premises a few months ago. "The city's commerce department and the City supported the Clés plus company in its search for a new location, thus replacing Média Kiosk, the company which manages the current premises and which should have taken these steps", declares Blandine Authié, the first assistant. "We sought to stay in the city center while keeping the rent affordable", explains for his part Julie, "indeed the municipality has mobilized to help us, we will soon sign for premises on rue Paul-Valéry, next to the Saint-Saint-Pierre church Jospeh".

In the meantime, the couple assures him: they will work until the end. And this despite the power cut which should occur shortly. "I planned to connect to the Flore café to run the machines until the last moment" says Patrick. The kiosk, owned by the Média Kiosk company bought by JCDecaux, should be transferred to a street in Grenoble.
