“Yes, yes, baguette” could well be transformed into “Yes, yes, croissant”. The French, famous for their inimitable pastries, are once again creating desires on social networks, but this time with a new trend that is easy to reproduce: the “flat croissant”.

For some time now, the "flat croissant" revisits this famous French pastry on social networks. And it seems that, whatever its shape, the crescent is wreaking havoc all over the world. Popularized on TikTok, the "flat croissant" is nothing more than a flattened crescent.

A few months ago, the trend emerged from Korean bakeries which offered croissants revisited in 2D and three times larger than normal. TikTok is quick to react to this culinary trend which is not necessarily to everyone's taste, especially the French. The video by influencer @laparisian, for example, sparked strong reactions from Internet users.

A total aberration for some, a genius idea for others, this new trend leaves the French perplexed. "The biggest joke in the world this croissant", "I'm confused", " a croissant that you can fax, we can read in the comments. The French feel bad for their France seeing their dear and tender pastry crushed with panache. According to them, the "flat croissant" would distort our dear pastries which would, in this form, be more like a palm tree, a shortbread or a kouign amann.

But for others, it's a revolutionary idea that you absolutely must reproduce at home! Simply buy a croissant from a bakery or supermarket, crush it, then toast it in a buttered pan until it browns. A few minutes later, it's ready! Or almost.

Transformed into toast, the croissant is then covered with toppings, each more delicious than the last: honey, chocolate, caramel, or fruit, it's the essential sweet snack of the&#39 ;summer. But you are free to vary the pleasures by opting for a savory version. Cheese, ham, eggs, everything can be combined. TikTok is full of tutorials for reproducing these different recipes at home.

After social networks, the "croissant flat" conquers businesses around the world. From Vancouver to Sydney, via Istanbul or Tokyo, this delicacy is found everywhere. If traveling abroad meant finding croissants that were not airy enough, overcooked, or had bad flakes, the problem is now solved: the croissant is finally under control (especially when it is crushed)!

In addition to being tasty, easy and quick to prepare, "the flat croissant" is also practical. Perfect for yesterday's croissants which have lost their softness, there are no more excuses not to enjoy them with as much pleasure.
