Chants et danses ont gaiement envahi les rues alésiennes. MIDI LIBRE – Charles Leduc

Ce vendredi 21 juin au soir, danse et musiciens ont animé la ville d’Alès, à l’occasion de la fête de la musique.

Before the football match, a small crowd began to stroll through the streets of Alès, where music celebrated this first day of summer. For this Music Festival, there was something for everyone. On the Place du Cratère, the dances of the world took place. First, hip-hop, performed by All’Style students, set the "on fire on the dancefloor" , Léa balance.

Children, parents, and teenagers gradually gathered on the square. Demonstrations and battles brought the place to life, before letting the Alès swing club shake up the audience with rock music. The couples, all smiles, let float "an atmosphere of love, which says swing, says summer evenings!", laughs Chris.

Capoeira also made its appearance, before giving way, once again, to breakers. A little further up, on the town hall square, the powerful voices of the EVIA gospel choir brought together an older audience, although just as cheerful.

A little everywhere in town…

Other emblematic spaces of the city, at the same time, were preparing their late-night paraphernalia: speakers, turntables and light shows await their young audience.

"We prefer to have a drink, take a walk, and go to places where things will move a little more, where people will dance", explains Jo, 19, accompanied by three other friends. They have, in mind, the Place des Martyrs.

And in the meantime, a range of artists can be found in the different bars of the Cévennes capital…
