Which areas are in the hit parade of French wines in Languedoc and Roussillon ?

The green guide to the best wines in France, published by the Revue du vin de France (RVF), is released in bookstores this Thursday. Midi Libre lists the vineyards praised by the guide between "three stars" and "one star". No "four star" wines in Languedoc and Roussillon. Daumas Gassac inherits a very disappointing "one star" and attacks the guide's tasters.
Bordeaux remains the most distinguished region in “four star” wines (twelve), Burgundy is now just one length behind with eleven “four stars&rdquo (six more than last year!) in the Green Guide to French Wines. 7,500 wines are rated, from 1,267 estates, half of which are organic or biodynamic.
Neither Languedoc nor Roussillon can boast of having a “four stars”. Five have a “three stars” : in Languedoc, Peyre Rose and Mas Jullien; in Roussillon, Clos du Rouge Gorge, Danjou-Banessy and Gauby. Are the region's wines still a little underpriced ?
21 domains are classified “two stars” in Languedoc and Roussillon (full list below), including two entrants from Hérault this year, La Terrasse d’Élise and the Prieuré Saint-Jean-de-Bébian. Two Hérault estates enter the guide with one star: Clos Constantin and Clos du Serres. The Aude domain Peter Sichel (Cucugnan) also accessed it for the first time, but without a star.
The guide gives out his favorites: Hérault resident Thierry Navarre (Saint-Chinian) is one of the lucky ones, as is Wendy Wilson (Le Soula) in Roussillon.
"Parisians with each other"
The Anian domain Daumas Gassac, like 42 others in Languedoc and Roussillon, must be satisfied with one star. Enough to make Roman Guibert, one of the five brothers on the estate, jump. "They are Parisians who are outgoing […], they are not our friends and we are not their friends< /em>". Karine Valentin, journalist and taster for the RVF, quips: "As Daumas Gassac is a Parisian wine, it should do it".
As for the Grange des pères, Aniane’s other spearhead, it is absent from the list. Bernard Vaillé, and his brother Laurent before him, does not wish to send samples to the guide.
