C’est officiel : avec 924 participants, la ville de Pézenas, dans l’Hérault, détient depuis ce samedi 20 avril le record du monde du port de marinières.
It's a world record that's unusual to say the least, but one that the people of Piscénois can be proud of, especially because the title was stolen from them by the Bretons of Roscoff on April 6: this Saturday, the 20th nbsp;April, the town of Pézenas (Hérault) set the world record for the number of people dressed in a striped sweater in the same place and at the same time.
Exactly 924 people gathered on Place Gambetta in the Hérault commune, as part of the Printival festival which pays tribute to singer Boby Lapointe, report our colleagues from France Blue.
A record smashed hands down
To beat the record previously held in Roscoff, in Finistère, at least 417 participants were needed in sailor stripes, but not just any: obligatory horizontal stripes specify our colleagues.
Record shattered and hands down, with more than twice the number of Bretons!
For the record, this large "marinade" has existed since 2018 in homage to Boby Lapointe who wore the sailor top like a second skin.
