With a very special message “to young people” in agriculture, Françoise Laurent-Perrigot inaugurates the Gard stand

The president of the Gard departmental council praised the work of the agricultural world in a context of crisis. 

It's always a festive moment in the fervor of the Agricultural Show, the one where we inaugurate the place which praises the work of the farmers of its land, which glorifies&nbsp ;its specificities and praises the energy deployed by the agricultural world to shape its territory. And in Gard, the president of the departmental council, Françoise Laurent-Perrigot had plenty to do. 

Of course don't forget the agricultural crisis, "campaign for the defense of a dignified income", but stay positive for the future. This is the message that the president wanted to deliver. By praising the merits of the department's farmers in general, and the "eleven farmers who bring our stand to life throughout the Show". She named them a  has a. A sign of the diversity of Gard production, from breeding to snails, including the essential manadiers and of course, the departmental flagship: the winegrowers. 

The prefect to farmers: "You can count on me"

"Farmers who showcase our products", insisted Françoise Laurent-Perrigot who were, one by one, applauded by a very large audience. A very special word also towards this "youth who are investing in a useful profession, that of agriculture". The opportunity to acknowledge the presence of  Ludivine Verlaguet, president of the Young Farmers of Gard, but also David Sève, emblematic figure of agricultural demonstrations in recent weeks. 

The message was intended to be resolutely optimistic because "the Gard has all the assets for sustainable and quality agriculture". This is also the message sent by Magali Saumade, the president of the Chamber of Agriculture of Gard then by Jérôme Bonet, prefect of Gard who underlined: " Farmers take care of our most precious common asset". Then to insist that the State will be there in an emergency like "in the long term to resolve each problem step by step. This is the promise made by the government and you can count on me", he addressed to the attention of the agricultural world.&nbsp ;

It was an opportunity to take advantage of the riches of Gard that are as varied as they are generous. Both on the plate and in the glasses. And the many guests at the show did not deprive themselves of it to celebrate this fifth day of the 2024 Agricultural Show which will close its doors this Sunday.
