I will be on Friday in a clinic in Montpellier which belongs to Lamine Gharbi (the Montpellier resident is president of the Federation of Private Hospitalization, Editor's note), because the movement in the clinics is indicative of the situation in the country, which ;these include doctors, pharmacists, public hospital services, private clinics…

The health system is weakening day after day, despite the commitment of professionals. And the way the government has chosen to sacrifice private clinics is telling. It is forbidden to oppose the public and the private, but this will have the consequence of weakening private clinics, or even forcing them to close services. I have also already planned other trips, to public hospitals, in other regions. Because on the issue of health, there is no question of waiting until 2027 to make new proposals.

Are you already working on proposals in areas other than health, with a view to 2027?

Of course. Our fellow citizens want results to live in security, to make a living from their work, entrepreneurs and employees alike. They also want to be able to find each other, that’s what holds the French together: republican values, public services, regional planning. I work on these issues in my region, on a daily basis, but also with Nous France, for 2027 and before, since I always play the general interest card. And I am lucky to have elected officials in your region, Christophe Rivenq, Stéphan Rossignol, who have been with me for a very long time.

You will therefore be a presidential candidate in 2027 ?

Yes, I intend to be a candidate. When someone asks me the question, I answer it. It’s a long road, we will have to come up with strong and new proposals. There is no inevitability in having a duel between the extremes, between La France insoumise and the National Rally.

They only prosper from the failures of the government and the difficulties of the French. Both are vultures, just waiting for the cascades of bad news and drama. Our role is to find solutions. As I did in my region, as many others do in their territory.

These questions fascinate me, like those of defense, and I think that the French will want people who have experience, but who also clearly have in mind the obsession with ’ rsquo;national independence. And if there is a trademark of extremes in our country, it is because they are often tied hand and foot by their cumbersome friendships.

What does an RN above 30% inspire you in the polls relating to the European elections??

Whose fault is it?? The government and the President played sorcerer's apprentice. The European elections are over: it has become an anti-Macron referendum, nothing else. We are not talking about Europe, projects, ambitions, reforms for Europe. The RN? But today, there is no envy of the RN, but a rejection of the head of state and his policies, above all.

Do you find the campaign led by François-Xavier Bellamy satisfactory?

He fights courageously. But the subject today is that the Republican right aims to become central again, not to look at the 10% mark from afar.
