Young professional cyclist aged just 18 dies in training accident

Un cycliste professionnel espagnol est décédé ce jeudi 29 février dans un accident survenu à l'entraînement.

18-year-old Spanish cyclist Juan Pujalte died following an accident, his team, Valverde, announced this Thursday, February 29. According to Spanish media, the accident took place near Escombreras, in Cartagena in the south east of Spain, during the young athlete's training. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Rest in peace, Juan", added the Spanish team.

If the circumstances of the accident remain to be determined, the cyclist suffered damage to the spleen and kidneys, as well as head trauma and internal bleeding, indicates the local media Murcia Plaza.
