40th start of the school year for the Lunel music school

Only a few days left before registration begins at the Lunel music education structure. Which, this year, is celebrating its 40th anniversary!

“Grin, griiin, griiiiin…”Whether it's your teenager who suddenly discovers a passion for the guitar or your younger sister who strums the strings of her Frozen mandolin – both convinced, moreover, of making you happy (!) – it may be high time to quickly spare your ears and especially to enroll them in the Lunel music school.

Especially since the reputation and effectiveness of the structure are no longer in doubt since it will celebrate, this year, the number of those it has successfully passed: forty! And as many new intakes, like the one that will take place from Wednesday, September 11 for the 2023-2024 session.

To know

There's something new on the teachers' side… The Lunel music school is welcoming two new teachers for this 2024 school year.
The cello lessons will be taught by Valentine Lalande, a recent state graduate. Olivier Cartier – already known to the people of Lunel since he himself came from the school and gave access to music, via the Urban Policy, to Mistral middle school students – will aim to breathe new life into musical awakening (ages 3-5) in the municipal leisure activities program (registration with the Youth Service at 04 67 87 84 12 starting September 10).

Save the dates! We already know three events: the musical Cabaret on January 19, the Irish evening on March 16, the inter-school meetings (Alès, Sommiès, Vauvert and Le Grau-du-Roi) around the trumpet on May 25…
But if there is one that we absolutely must not forget, it is that of June 21. It is indeed during the Fête de la Musique that the Lunelle school will celebrate its 40th anniversary.

And to register, how do we do it?? If it is obviously present during the association festival this Sunday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 2pm, at Jean-Hugo Park, the Lunel music school will register for registrations starting Wednesday, September 11, according to the times specified on its website musique-lunel.fr

Already three events to experience this month

Created in 1984 and located at 36 avenue Gambetta, it houses classrooms taught by a dozen teachers, all from major conservatories, who teach violin, cello, electric guitar, jazz guitar, bass, piano, flutes, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and percussion. Enough to leave you breathless at the end of this list which says a lot about the variety of instruments offered for study.

Choir, musical training (ex-solfège), ensembles (classical, jazz, etc.) complete this offer recognized by the Department which awarded the Lunel music school the classification “Resource school” for the western part of Hérault.

An intervention with 800 schoolchildren in the area

In addition, its teachers intervene in the CE2 classes of Lunel registered in the Cité éducatif system and also travel to other primary schools in the area since a tripartite agreement was signed between the music school, the City and the Agglo. Each year, 800 schoolchildren benefit from this awakening and learning.

For the inauguration of the new ATP season

As for the 240 student musicians who are already members, they punctuate their performances – from a simple duo to a complete ensemble – many free events throughout the calendar.

Starting with the musical atmosphere during the presentation of the Galaxie culturelle de Lunel, this Saturday, September 7, at 6 p.m., at Espace Feuillade, the unveiling of the new ATP season, Thursday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m., at Espace Brassens, and the jazz workshop concert for the inauguration of the “Précurseurs” exhibition at the Ambrussum museum in Villetelle, Friday, September 20, at 7 p.m.
