The Montpellier Court of Appeal has ruled. Gilles d'Ettore remains in prison, his lawyer Jean-Marc Darrigade announced to Midi Libre this Friday morning. 

Incarcerated and placed in solitary confinement in Béziers prison since March 21 after his indictment for corruption, illegal taking of interests and embezzlement of public funds, the Mayor of Agde appealed this Tuesday, April 2, to the Montpellier Court of Appeal.

From the room where several members of his family were seated, the mayor appeared smiling. "Gilles d’Ettore does not fear the comments made against him, and he does not fear that the arguments of his defense had been made public, his lawyer, Me Jean-Marc Darrigade, declared to Midi Libre. He is a public man who expects the arguments of his defense to alleviate the delicate situation in which he finds himself. There will be no element relating to the merits of the case and the investigation which could be disclosed on my part."

For her part, the clairvoyant Sophia Martinez, imprisoned in Nîmes for corruption, will face the Montpellier Court of Appeal this Tuesday, April 9.

While she had announced this Wednesday to refuse to appeal her detention, she finally changed her mind. "The general prosecutor's office confirms to me, assured Midi Libre, the prosecutor of the Republic of Béziers, Raphaël Balland, that this lady withdrew her request for withdrawal on the occasion of a change of lawyer and that she should therefore appear before the investigating chamber on Tuesday, April 9."
