Nîmes Olympique: “If my team works well, it can be a surprise,” assures coach Adil Hermach

Croc technician Adil Hermach is satisfied with the first week of preparation for his group and his four recruits.

"The boys are tired but when we put the ball at their feet, they still manage to find the necessary juice. That means that they always have a little bit under their belt, so that's rather positive." Friday morning (12  nbsp;July) at La Bastide, Adil Hermach had a smile. "We're working well, we're on the right track", he congratulated himself.

The only downside: the sun, which hits hard – Hermach : "And yet, we didn’not have the great heat…" – and notably surprised Amara, one of the summer recruits. "The heat hurts him very much", notes the& ;rsquo;Nîmes coach who underlines: "Compared to Concarneau, for example, when we train in Nîmes at 6 p.m. under the conditions, the efforts are multiplied by I don't really know how much but they are multiplied."

Stability in the workforce which will save time

The lull in temperatures on Friday morning was therefore appreciated. "The players had legs, showing that time is an essential factor in performance", explained Adil Hermach after the new two-hour session, which had been preceded by a twenty-five minute jogging.

A rhythmic session with no downtime. "Working with the ball does not prevent running. It's just less psychologically hard", notes defender Waly Diouf, who hopes "to experience a less complicated season than the last&quot ; and appreciates the stability of the squad: "L’last year, with all the movements in one way or the other, we were starting from afar. There, we'll save time."

First connections

"Connections and affinities are starting to be created, we are making good progress", continues Adil Hermach, particularly satisfied with the behavior and integration of the four (first) summer reinforcements. "The first impressions are good and confirm all the good things we thought of them. These are recruits who look like us", assures the Nîmes technician who is on the same wavelength as the sports director Sébastien Larcier whose work he salutes : & ;quot;He has very good knowledge of this market. He was very good on the first four recruits. Better to take the best players from N2 than the worst from L2 or the average ones from National."

Lemaangr and El Hamri waiting

Midfielder Abdallah Lemaangr, who appeared four times at the end of last season, and striker Selmane El Hamri took part in the restart. The two players from the crocodile reserve team, not at all sure of leaving with an amateur license in R1, therefore without a salary, are waiting for a possible professional contract. Will they get it ?

“We have a lot of people for the moment in the midfield, “it will depend on the movements”, answers Sébastien Larcier about the first.

Concerning the author of 14 goals in R1, the sports director from Nîmes explains:"He had a superb season, he deserves to resume with the group. I am in favor of rewarding those who have performed well. underneath, çcreated a club dynamic. Like &agrav; Abdallah, I would like to offer him a one-year professional contract. But until I have freed myself, of the payroll, it will be no."

Left side Beneddine "was part of the typical team in his group of N2, recalls the Gard coach. He is from Nîmes and he has experience. He can also double as right back if necessary.

Defensive midfielder Salim Akkal, "he can do almost everything and he will be more complementary to Picouleau and Mexico than Doukansy" whose transfer to Turkey is still stalled – like that of Mbina – and who, therefore, is expected on Monday at La Bastide.

Attacking midfielder Marcel, "was a priority for us. He's a complete player, very complementary to those we already had".

Right winger Amara, who can also play behind the striker, "we positioned ourselves on him very early. He helped Paris 13 Atletico to move up to National. We needed this kind of element, a dribbler that you can no longer touch when he is in the box. It’s a thrill gamer. He can sometimes disappear, but if he is confident, he will hurt a lot..

"I called each of them. I can tell you that Nîmes Olympique still gets you horny! They told me “yes” very quickly", relates Hermach who, even if the transfer window is not over, concludes : "You know football . Beyond the workforce, if the mayonnaise sets, lots of good things can happen. I'm not afraid. If my team performs well, it can be a surprise."

Mexico and Lemaangr, who were experiencing minor muscle pain, did not train on Friday morning. But they took part, in the afternoon, in the relaxation-cohesion activity, a canoe trip on the Gardon, between Collias and the Pont du Gard.
