L’Areine de l’Aubrac, a third place for work and rest will soon appear in Recoules d’Aubrac

On the initiative of Marjory Mayo, accompanied by around forty volunteers, the association L’Areine de l’Aubrac is working on the opening in September of a third place, in Recoules d’Aubrac.

It is in the heart of Recoules d’Aubrac, next to the town hall, that the project of opening a third place is being prepared for two years. "It’is a space of all possibilities, of sharing, of meeting and which aims to revive the village", explains Marjory Mayo, president of the L’Areine de l’Aubrac association, at the initiative of this novelty.

Why L’Areine de l’Aubrac ?

This third place bears the name of L’Areine d’Aubrac, like that of the association chaired by Marjory Mayo. But it’s no coincidence: "We named it that way for three reasons: there is the arena , a place of play, conviviality and sharing; arena in geology, a coarse sand forming a loose sedimentary rock; the queens of Aubrac, the Aubrac breed cows are called the queens, with their painted eyes and their golden color", tells Marjory Mayo, at the’ ;initiative of this innovation.

A place on two floors

Place de la ville hall, this co-working establishment is made up of two floors. The first is a mix between a work space and a meeting room. It is made up of tables, chairs, and two large televisions for video conferences. "Since the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have switched to teleworking and are opting for this solution to work remotely", explains& nbsp;president. "A room will be occupied by Carole Garcia, who is, among other things, a foot reflexologist. This bathroom will be transformed into another office, explains Marjory Mayo while detailing the visit. There is still work and changes to be made.& quot; In the coming weeks, the decoration will be improved as will the kitchenette on the 1st floor. Marjory Mayo hopes to open in September.

By passing through the stairs, those interested will reach the second space which constitutes this third place, an establishment with an area of ​​150m2  nbsp;belonging to the town hall of Recoules d’Aubrac. "We have a room dedicated to the meeting, which can also accommodate meditation courses ; toilets and shower. We have set up this last room so that users of this place can also refresh themselves after having carried out sports exercise to decompress, continue the initiator of this project.

An establishment open to all

The Areine d’Aubrac association, made up of six office members and around forty members, has four missions by opening this third place  : "a collective interest for the six communes on the plateau ; engage the territory in the ecological transition; promote employment and the arrival of new people in the region as for Carole; promote social and professional ties", proudly lists the young woman.

This atypical, equipped and well-being place targets all types of people. "This space is a professional, intergenerational and meeting establishment. It’is very hybrid", describes Marjory Mayo. It is as accessible to Lozériens as it is to businesses, start-ups, people passing through and residents of neighboring departments. "The goal is to host seminars so they can work in a crazy, feel-good environment!" , she presses.

Subsidies and public support

L’Areine de l’Aubrac can count on multiple public supports in order to make this project a reality. "The Department subsidized the equipment for six workstations up to 80 % of the costs ; Marchastel and Nasbinals helped us get started with tables and chairs; we also had donations from certain lovers of Aubrac, members of the association , cites the initiator of the third place. As for the town hall of Recoules d’Aubrac, it is a great support to us!"
