In detail: a 48-year-old man, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 1 year in prison and banned from staying in Béziers for 3 years for having, on the evening of July 20, kicked and attempted to punch the Béziers municipal police officers who were trying to apprehend him. And this when he had just insulted, while drunk, a town hall agent ensuring the tranquility of the summer show at Place Jean-Jaurès. Another case: a 41-year-old man, residing in a hotel in Bédarieux, was sentenced to 10 months in prison and banned for 3 years from staying in Bédarieux, for having verbally threatened the gendarmes of the Bédarieux brigade who had just apprehended him in a drunken state in the street, on the evening of July 20. He had also threatened the healthcare staff who had examined him while in police custody.

He intentionally crashes into the police vehicle

Another example: a 28-year-old man, residing in Béziers, was sentenced to 6 months in prison for refusing to comply with the order. ; and for driving without a license, use of narcotics and violence against two municipal police officers from Béziers to 18 months in prison, including 6 months suspended. On the evening of July 20, he refused to comply with a municipal police check and then intentionally crashed into the police vehicle.

A 32-year-old homeless man was also sentenced to 15 months in prison, 6 of which were suspended, and continued detention, for having insulted and threatened the ambulance drivers who wanted to take away a large hunting knife in his possession on 19 July, while he was being transported in an ambulance between two healthcare establishments in Lamalou-les-Bains and Montpellier. The drunken man had even spat on one of the police officers who was taking him into custody…

"All had already been convicted"

A 36-year-old man, recently released from detention, was sentenced, to 18 months in prison for having driven a vehicle without a license in Agde, while drunk, and then refused to comply to the check of his alcohol level. Within the police station of Agde, he had also spat in the direction of an officer of the national police of Agde, but had hit a municipal policewoman.

A 38-year-old man living in Béziers was sentenced to 10 months' imprisonment with continued detention for having, on July 3, shortly after 4 a.m. , spat on municipal police officers in Béziers after insulting them while he was drunk. At the time of his arrest, he rebelled and scratched one of the police officers.

All had already been convicted and will also have to pay damages to the victims.
