Gard placed on yellow alert for rain, flooding and storms

Météo France indicates that heavy rainstorms could occur from Sunday September 22nd in the afternoon and evening in Hérault and Gard.

Gard has been placed on yellow alert by Météo France for Sunday September 22nd due to the risk of violent storms and a rain-flooding episode. Stationary storms could occur in the plains of Hérault and Gard with possible strong electrical activity and precipitation. Significant accumulations cannot be ruled out, up to 50 millimetres of precipitation in one hour.

Caution

Forecasts to be refined in the coming hours. For its part, La Chaîne Météo is calling for the greatest caution for Sunday afternoon with thunderstorms in the lower and middle Rhone Valley as well as in Languedoc.

Minimum temperatures on Sunday will be between 14 and 19°C from the Cévennes to Nîmes and between 20 and 22°C in the afternoon for maximums.
