The Pont des Arts, a creation of Sète native Jean Denant. Midi Libre – NICOLAS ZARROUK

The bridge decorated by artist Jen Denan spans the Peryade Canal in Sète.

Open to traffic since last January, the Pont des Arts, which spans the Peyrade Canal in Sète, has just received an award. Indeed, on Friday September 27, during the Salon des Communes et des Intercommunalités de l'Hérault at the Béziers exhibition center, the City of Sète received the local investment prize from the Association of Mayors of France for this project.

A structure covered in mirrors

The particularity of this work, which currently only serves the Manitas de Plata conservatory, is that the concrete structure is covered in mirrors, the specialty of the Sète artist Jean Denant. L'Île Singulière also owes him La Traversée, the map of the Mediterranean, placed on a bunker on the Promenade Maréchal-Leclerc.
