A 70-million-year-old dinosaur unearthed

#CRUZY. In an imposing plaster cocoon, three meters long and weighing several tons: ten dorsal vertebrae and the sacrum of ;a titanosaur, a herbivore 10 to 15 meters long which grazed on some exotic foliage 70 million years ago. The fossilized skeleton of this titanosaur, whose location was kept secret for two years, is in an exceptional state of preservation.

A rarity discovered by amateur archaeologists and which will now be examined by scientists. Pieces of the animal have already been transported and cleaned in the village's archaeological laboratory. But this is the first time that a casting of this importance has come out of the ground.

Comics and a big banquet

The regional natural park is expanding

#HERAULT. Since January, the municipalities of Lodévois and Larzac have joined the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park. An extension which should make this site distributed between southern Aveyron and, now, northern Hérault, up to the banks of Salagou, the second largest regional park in France, after that of the Volcanoes of ;Auvergne.

A socio-economic, agricultural, natural, landscape diagnosis… have been established. And the evolution seemed quite logical, natural. Tourism and agriculture are at the heart of the issues, as is the adaptation of the territory to climate change (including monitoring of water resources) and attractiveness and societal development.

#GARD. Gard tobacconists joined their counterparts from the Pyrénées-Orientales yesterday to demonstrate at the border in Boulou. They denounce in particular the price distortion between France and Spain as explained by Ghislaine Mazoyer, president of the Chambre syndicale des tobacconists du Gard: "A package that costs 5.50 € in Spain worth 12.50 € at our place. It’s also a rant against increases."
