A family history for a Vietnamese food shop

Des spécialités vietnamiennes à découvrir.

A family of five children got involved in this new business on Place des Goélands.

A Vietnamese food shop, Hop Viet, has been open since January 3 on Place des Goélands (in the former veterinarian's premises). Takeaway meals prepared on site are available for sale.

It’s a family story that continues: a family of five children are involved in this business. The work was carried out from top to bottom to make this place suitable for this new activity. Loan, the eldest daughter, retraces her parents' journey: "They worked at Mas de Mingue, then near where Les Halles is today. They also ran a restaurant on rue de la République: Le Saïgon Palace. For years, our father also made spring rolls for supermarkets." Loan worked as a pharmacy technician for years in a village: to get to his place work, La Calmette, she passed Castanet every day. When she decided to change path, she naturally chose to settle in this neighborhood that she liked. The little sister, Thilieu, who also works in the shop, specifies that they had in-house training in the kitchen, from mom and dad! Being able to taste Vietnamese specialties while shopping in Castanet, with a smiling welcome from Loan and Thilieu, a good idea for an escape!
