A second mobile emergency and resuscitation service line (SMUR) validated at Lozère Hospital

This strengthening of the emergency system in Lozère takes place within the framework of the Regional Health Project (PRS). The new line will be operational next fall. 

After several requests from Laurent Suau, mayor of Mende and president of the supervisory board of Lozère Hospital, and Jean-Claude Luceno, the director of the establishment, to Didier Jaffre, general director from the Occitanie Regional Health Agency (ARS), a second line of Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR) will soon strengthen the emergency system in Lozère.

Between twelve and fifteen jobs created

Thus, between twelve and fifteen jobs will be created to secure the emergency department this fall. Made up of doctors, nurses, stretcher bearers and drivers, this service will operate 24 hours a day. This desire is part of the Regional Health Project (PRS) and a commitment to support by the ARS from the second semester.

In addition, to strengthen urgent medical aid in the department, the ARS has set up a specific exemption system for corresponding Samu doctors, in order to provide local response to the population in the event of a medical emergency. Thus, the ARS fully finances this system in eleven sectors of the department.
