Insensitive to cries of distress of these newborns looking for their mother and certainly hungry, the boy, all smiles in front of the camera, did not hesitate for a second to indulge in these acts of nameless cruelty by throwing one by the kittens into the void, above a river in the middle of the night.

"Intolerable facts"

The video is then shared by the author with a group of friends from a high school in Rodez in which one of the students then decides to broadcast the video widely public, reveals our colleagues from Centre Presse. TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat… The scene is making the rounds on social networks. First deleted, it was republished several times and now has 900 000 views and nearly 100 likes.& ;nbsp;The person suspected of having filmed the facts is a young girl, who can therefore be prosecuted for complicity in acts of cruelty.

Animal defense associations continue to denounce a shame. Stéphane LAMART, founding president of the eponymous association has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor of the Republic to the Rodez judicial court for acts of cruelty and serious abuse. He stated that: "More and more young people are using social networks to mistreat animals and thus create buzz. I hope for a sanction commensurate with these intolerable facts, which could help prevent repeat offenses."

Trivialization of the torture of living beings

The One Voice association joined Stéphane LAMART and filed a complaint against the author of the facts but also against his friend who filmed the scene without interfering. "For them, who will not have survived, and to recognize the link between violence against animal and human victims", she explained before adding: "We also strongly call for a start in our institutions on the responsibility of adults and society as a whole to educate young people about empathy towards animals".

"Without even talking about the education provided by one's parents and the school system, it is society as a whole in its way of considering individuals of other species which must be questioned. She trivializes violence and torture against living beings in front of sometimes very young children", she denounces. One Voice also asks that awareness courses about our companions and all animals in general be given in schools.
